데뷔 전부터 자체제작 리얼리티 ‘신인백서’와 다양한 무대 공연으로 팬들에게 먼저 다가가는 모습으로 차별화된 팬사랑을 보였던 스누퍼는 데뷔 후 남자친구 같은 심쿵하면서도 친근한 모습으로 여심몰이에 성공, MBC 음악 중심 ‘신인의 중심’ 첫 주인공으로 뽑히는가 하면 공식 방송활동 종료 후에는 바로 MBC 뮤직의 쌍방향 소원성취 리얼리티 ‘스누퍼 프로젝트’를 찍는 등 탄탄한 팬덤을 구축해가며 성공한 아이돌의 정도를 가고 있다.
데뷔 미니앨범 ‘쉘 위’에서 사랑스럽고 밝은 매력으로 10대 소녀들을 설레게 했던 스누퍼가 이번에는 두번째 미니앨범 ‘플라토닉 러브’로 2030 누나들로 하여금 보호받고 싶게 만드는 남자의 향기를 풍기며 돌아왔다.
타이틀곡 ‘지켜줄께’는 레트로한 그루브와 아련한 멜로디가 돋보이는 곡으로 슈거팝과 댄스가 섞인듯한 느낌이 아주 매력적이다. 마치 80년대의 댄스클럽에 와있는 듯한 느낌마저 들게 하는 사운드를 지닌 요즘 아이돌 신에서는 오히려 아주 독특한 레트로 넘버이다. 복고풍의 신스 사운드, 일렉기타와 어우러지는 감성적인 멜로디와 짝사랑의 아픔을 담은 공감 가는 가사는 스누퍼의 개성을 더욱 어필시켜준다.
